The working of the Holy Spirit has been manifested at our church in a marked way, and souls are being baptized and converted. This is the second group of souls that have taken this sacred step in their walk with Christ. Truly the gospel is “the power of God unto salvation” to them that believe it. But to those who do not believe, it becomes a “witness against” them. In this effort we are glad to say that four precious souls have not only accepted the message but have also sealed their decision to follow Christ through the waters of baptism.
Recently, at our first baptism, we saw two souls move forward in the ordinance of baptism. On June 25, 2016 four more have taken their stand to live for Christ. And for the glory of God another baptism is being planned in the near future. Surely the Lord is reaching forth His hand in the finishing of the work. Elder David Jimenez is being used by God in a special way in helping in this important work. We want to welcome those who were recently baptized into the body of Christ. These souls are very precious in the in eyes of the Lord.
“Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God” (Isaiah 62:3).
“The great day of the Lord is near at hand. When Christ appears in the clouds of heaven, those who have not sought Him with all the heart, those who have allowed themselves to be deceived, will surely perish. Our only safety is to be found through repentance and conversion, and the blotting out of sins. Those who will now seek the Lord earnestly, humbling their hearts before Him, and forsaking their sins, will, through the sanctification of the truth, be fitted to unite with the members of the royal family, and will see the King in His beauty” (This Day With God, 248).
“Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection.” Romans 6:4-5.
“I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.” Luke 15:7.
